Welcome Home, Sisters – Your Private Sanctuary in South Kolkata Hello Sisters, I’m from the City of Joy—Kolkata (formerly Calcutta)—and although I currently live and work overseas, I do visit at least twice a year. I’m delighted to open my beautiful, brand-new apartment to women travelers who wish to experience the rich history, culture, art, food, and spirit of this incredible city. Located in South Kolkata, just a 2-minute walk from the metro station, the apartment offers the perfect base for exploring the city while enjoying the comfort of a peaceful residential neighborhood. One of the things guests appreciate most is complete privacy. I do not live in this property, so during your stay you will have the entire apartment to yourselves. This is not a shared living arrangement—you can relax, work (with unlimited wifi), unwind, and enjoy the space as your own home away from home. If you wish to cook simple meals yourself, I would happily provide groceries and tea/coffee for initial days of stay. Guests will have access to a spacious en-suite master bedroom, along with the living, dining, and kitchen areas. For female friends traveling together, I can also offer a second large bedroom (non-AC), allowing me to comfortably host up to three women. As a proud single mother heading an all-women family, creating a safe, welcoming, and nurturing space for women is very close to my heart. Our family is small—just my daughter and me, although she currently lives overseas as well. While I may be thousands of miles away, I will remain easily reachable and committed to ensuring your stay is smooth and comfortable. I am also fortunate to have a long-term house-help, whom we lovingly call "Didi." Over the years she has become family to us, and like me, she is a hardworking single mother who has built a life through resilience, dignity, and care for others. Should you need any local assistance during your stay, she will be happy to help. In return, I kindly ask all guests to treat her with the same respect, kindness, and warmth they would extend to a family member. Your consideration means a great deal to both of us. My hope is that you will feel not like a guest, but like a sister coming home—a place where you can feel safe, independent, and completely at ease while discovering the magic of Kolkata.
